I'm knitting some fingerless mittens from my homspun fiber but I want a flap to cover my fingers when I don't need them. Where can I get a pattern or does someone know how to do this? I have looked on the Web but no luck. Any one have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jo-Anne
Hi, Jo-Anne - You might try googling "Hunting mittens/gloves". They also have flaps over the finger tips. I think there may be another posting on Knitting Daily that also talks about the topic but might be wrong. Best of luck in your search.
Halycon.com has free 2 patterns. One is for the pattern you are looking for. The other is for shooting mittens. Both are listed as requests for our soldiers overseas.

I hope this info helps
