Great pattern!  Unfortunately, akitas don't need vests but will save it for later.

My English Mastiff would have loved this.  She used to wear my t-shirts and filled them out more than I did.

I love the vest and I'm sure Sir Didymus will like it, too.

I just love this adorable vest, however if I knit this for my  much loved male whippet, Legend,

you can see in the profile shot what a perfect target it would become when he urinates!!!

I already made that mistake once when I made another handsome sweater for him.

Too sad.

My 8 month old (95 lbs.) Lab- St. Bernard mix is already too big for most dog sweaters. This will be perfect for him! I hope I can get it done by Christmas, he'll look so cute in it!

Very cute.  I would love to see something like this for a toy dog.  However, I realize that most sweaters are written for small dogs!  A suggestion:  Some dogs simply will not tolerate manipulating  a coat openning in the front.  A openning down the back may be easier to work.  And I agree with the previous poster, a male dog will definately trash the front peplum.

This is a really pretty girly vest for a girly large dog.  I would definately knit it if I had a large female dog.  If I ever get to have my female standard poodle (two chihuahua's came into my life instead and changed the plan), I will definately knit this vest.  I have it saved to my knitting pattern file!!!

The picture is too small.  What does it really look like?

Re Sharon W's comment about the size of the photo, I thought the same thing.  However, if you click on the download link, you will see a much larger photo in the pattern.
