Spinjilly, I'd love to hear about your new spinning wheel. What kind did you buy, and where did you find it? How did you decide which one to get? I'd really like to try spinning but I've never had the opportunity to try a wheel, only a handspindle. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

Nina, that was a great suggestion about the Merge and Center for Cables. I've been charting lace lately, and it's a challenge for me to see and remember "this decrease stitch eats two stitches below it" and "this yo stitch gets stuck in the middle ". The chart is representative in the end, but still hard for me to "see"

Go there and get an account, also, and tell all your friends here to do the same, and then post links HERE to your pictures There, or on Flickr. Both are free. I've tried the excel method - but does anyone have the typical KNITTING symbol set that will work with Excel? I looked and looked and had to use some kind of greek something, but they weren't the same, and therefore harder to remember.
