I've been crocheting since a kid (now a grandma) and only in the last couple of years have I had to try and translate a diagram into something that makes sense to me. I bought a Scandinavian book with a lovely pattern last year and after numerous attempts at deciphering the diagram, gave up. Does anyone out there know of a reference I can utilize

For a beginner, you might try a website called learntocrochet.com . I agree that youtube.com also has some great videos. For printable references, numerous websites carry instructions, including lionbrand.com. Hope
