    Knitting in the round is fairly easy... there are a few things to know though. When you knit (garter stitch) it becomes (magically, in my view) stockinette when you knit in the round. You must be very careful when attaching the circle of stitches so that there are no twists on the stitches or you will have to start over. I usually take one stitch from

    I'm not sure if this will help, but I start with 8 stitches (which would be 2 per dpn) and increase each stitch on the first row (to 16 stitches, 4 sts to each needle). Then I knit one, increase one, knit two, increase one, knit one. The next row I just knit, and further rows I increase in the second and the second to last stitch on each needle

    I double my hats by knitting the original as planned, then using a complimentary color reverse the pattern and keep on going. The top of the hat fits neatly inside the 1st one and I don't have to go looking for any fancy patterns and the cuff is great looking with the extra color, and it is reversible! Sally K.

  • This Should Be Easy - But...

    I want to make a simple 2x2 ribbed hat (from the cuff to the tip), but I can't figure out how to do the decreases so that the ribbing goes right up to the top. I've seen them, but just can't visualize how it's done. I appreciate any and all help with this one (with many thanks!). Sally K.
