I've been a subcriber to IK orever. I subscribe to Spinoff as well. But I'm not planning resubscribe when my subscriptions runs out. Many of my friends have said the same. Things have changed at Interweave and not for the better in my opinion. I have not seen a pattern that I have liked in IK for the past 2 years. Knitting Daily is now just

Hi Denise, I love my Kromski Sonata! Its the ony full size wheel that is portable. As result it has a high orifice - about 30", compared to the 23" orifice height on most portables. Saves on back strain! It is double treadled - which I love and spins wonderfully. I also have the lace flyer to spin lace weight yarns, the but standard flyer

Hi Aimee! Alpaca is perfect to learn to spin on! It drafts easily which helps in learning to spin! It is such a wonderful fiber and makes scrumptious yarn! I have not tried Cormo - I fondled plenty of it at the festival but didn't take the plunge in buying some. Now I wish I had! Rebecca

Interweave Knits team - could you share the pattern for those cute little sweaters shown in the wool article in the Fall issue? These would make adorable Christmas tree decorations! Please, please share this pattern!

Hi Mandy! Typically any yarn that is 100% wool will felt/ just be sure its not Superwash! I have also felted wool blended with mohair and alpaca - though the finished product felted a little less densly. than 100% wool. No special equipment is needed - just a bit of dish soap, and sink and hot water! Its best to knit a sample swatch then vigourously

Just curious what other people found and bought at the Estes Park Wool festival. Besides buying lots of beautiful fiber to feed my spinning wheel, I came home with an English Angora bunny (much to my husband's surprise) and my friend scored a used Ashford Traditional Wheel for a steal. I also bought a set of Louet combs for over 40% off retail.

Hi Denise! I have a Kromski Sonata wheel that I just love and its very portable- folds flat, and best yet, spins like a full size wheel. It has one of the highest orifice heights - 28"-30" which really saves on your back! It comes with a very nicely made, padded bag that has a pocket for extra bobbins, tools and such. I have had mine for several
